Important Info for the 2026-2027 Year

Welcome to Morgan Street Dance Company! We hope you had a safe and healthy summer. Please refer to this document for all essential information regarding our 2026/2027 dance season. Classes begin Monday, August 17th, 2026—we can’t wait to see your little dancer’s smiling faces!

Performance Dates:

  • Rehearsal: May 22nd, 2027
  • Performance: May 23rd, 2027
  • Location: Heymann Performing Arts Center, Lafayette, LA

Reminders:

  • The first day of class is Monday, August 17th, 2026
  • Please take a moment to accept the online waiver in your Parent Portal
  • Please update the following information in your Parent Portal:
    • Email address
    • Mailing address
    • Phone numbers
    • Your child’s medical conditions/allergy info
    • Your child’s previous years of dance experience (do not include this upcoming season)
  • Important documents, such as schedules and the dress code, can be found in your Parent Portal under “View Account Documents”

Communication Note: Most communication is done via email. Ensure your email is current in your parent account.

Classes and Fees:

  • Classes start Monday, August 17th, 2026. View your child’s class schedule in your Parent Portal.
  • Fees: Refer to the attached 2026/2027 Fees Table for tuition and fee amounts. To view actual tuition and fees charged to your account, log into your Parent Portal and click on “View financial history.”
  • Monthly Tuition: Due on the 1st of each month.
  • Costume Deposit: Due on September 15th.
  • Performance Fee: Due on November 15th (includes a digital download link, one program per student, class photos for the program, and Heymann Center fees and insurance).
  • Late Fees:
    • $10.00 fee for dancers picked up more than 10 minutes after class dismissal.
    • $15.00 late fee for accounts not paid by the 10th of the month.
  • All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No refunds or deductions are given if a student misses class. If a student must withdraw, notify the office immediately. Tuition will be charged until notification.

Payments:

  • Online Payments: Pay online with a credit card by logging into your Parent Portal. A 3.8% convenience fee applies to all credit card payments. Enroll in AutoPay to have your card charged on the first Monday of the month for the current balance due.
  • Checks: Make checks payable to MSDC. Drop checks in the lobby tuition box or mail to 803 S. St. Blaise Lane, Youngsville, LA 70592.

Performance and Costume Info:

  • Performance Rehearsal: Saturday, May 22nd, 2027
  • Performance Date: Sunday, May 23rd, 2027
  • Location: Heymann Performing Arts Center, Lafayette, LA
  • Costumes:
    • Classes 1-3, Hip Hop: 1 costume
    • Classes 4 – Intermediate 1: 2 costumes
    • Intermediate 2 – Advanced: 3+ costumes
    • Extra Classes: 1 costume

Performance Tickets:

  • The ticket process is decided yearly by the Heymann Performing Arts Center. More information will be provided as received.
  • Parents and students need a ticket for entry during the performance. Children 2 years and under do not need a ticket.
  • Each dancer receives one free ticket. Families can purchase up to 9 additional tickets, with up to 4 more per additional dancer. Extra tickets are available for purchase when they go on sale to the general public.

Closures:

  • Morgan Street Dance Company follows the Lafayette Parish School System Calendar for holiday and weather-related closures.
  • In case of severe weather closures, notifications will be sent via email and posted on social media.
  • MSDC will have class on Parent-Teacher Conference Days and In-Service Days.

  • Labor Day – Monday Sept. 7th, 2026
  • Fall Break – Monday and Tues Oct. 19th-20th, 2026
  • Thanksgiving Holiday – Nov. 23rd – 27th, 2026
  • Christmas Holiday – Dec. 21st, 2026 – Jan. 4th, 2027 (Classes resume on Monday Jan. 5th, 2027)
  • MLK Holiday – Monday Jan. 18th, 2027
  • Mardi Gras – Feb. 8th – 12th, 2027
  • Easter/Spring – March 26th – April 2nd, 2027

  • Picture Day February 20th and 21st, 2027 (Allen Breaux Studio)
  • Tights Ordering (Performance) April 5th-16th, 2027
